Louisiana Purchase Gardens & Zoo currently
has openings for the following Assignments: |
Special
Events Helper - We can always use good
help at events such as the Easter Egg Hunt,
Earth Day, and Wet-N-Wild.

Zoo
Greeter - If you have a smile and know
your way around the zoo, you can help us welcome
zoo visitors. You can help greet school groups
during the week or we can teach you how to
be a greeter on the Cat Walk, African Savanah,
or the Louisiana Purchase Exhibit on weekends.
|
Greenhouse
and Grounds - Work with our Master Gardener
preparing plants to be planted in the spring.
|
Train
Gang - The Train Gang is currently working
to get the tracks in shape for the return
of the Train. Tasks on the horizon include
digging out the railroad ties that have become
overgrown with grass, and also replacing worn
out ties. We're almost done in the Emu Yard
and will soon be working on the tracks in
the Africa Savanah. Later we'll be maintaining
the tracks and the train to keep it running
for years to come.

Waiting
List for Keeper Helpers - If you are over
18, have animal experience and knowledge and
can commit to helping at least 20 hours per
month, we invite you to apply for training
and assignment in the Kitchen, Reptile House,
or Percheron Walker. Once we get to know you
better, there may be other opportunities as
well.
